I wouldn't say there is a "lot" of anti-Robotech views expressed by BattleTech fans. For the most part, a vast majority of players are indifferent—if they even know of Robotech. Obviously, it can't be said to be no anti-R sentiments, just as it can't be said that no anti-BT sentiments exist within Robotech; but for the most part, the majority of BT fans are video gamers (of both the MechWarrior and BT sub-franchises), A Time of War role-players, and of course the strong interest in the tabletop games of Armored Combat and Alpha Strike. As a fan of both R and BT myself, and well immersed in the BT community, the default acknowledgment of R is that it has several mecha designs in common (or at least it used to, until the revival of those designs with new visual models), but that the storylines and game mechanics are SOOOOO far apart as to be meaningless. Most players were not around or not really invested in HG's legal issues with the (now defunct) FASA over 30 years ago. In other words, the two franchises co-exist with their fanbases, with Robotech barely a thought, much less a concern, for the vast majority. Honestly, the only time it comes up is about every 2 or 3 years when a new BattleTech fan indicates they discovered BT because of it and they are always 100% welcomed to join the fold (as I did 37 years ago).

Hmmm interesting. I mean I have heard about the friction over some licensing images between HG and FASA and can see why the BT fans would bear sone ill will over it. But I keep seeing shots taken against Robotech from the BT community. It’s nothing serious or vindictive but they keep getting made.

Not on fandom. Mostly on social media. And not all the time but I consistently see shots taken against robo tech by battletech fans.

It'd be interesting to see if it's a very vocal person/minority of participants, because they just do not exist with any real notice on the large communities, like the official CGL one, Sarna discord, or VG forums. The ones you see could just be over-emphasized by their volume. As it stands for the last 2-3 decades, Robotech is in no way a "threat" to BattleTech and, unlike Robotech, BattleTech is filled with new material (lore, novels, journals, video games, role-playing, table-top) every year for the last 17 years. BattleTech fans—grognards and newer players alike—have no reason to be angry about Robotech or even give it that much thought. Drama enough in the ever-evolving Inner Sphere storylines.

I would not say it's a persistent thing, but I do see shots continually taken, yes on Social Media by individuals, but also I think I've seen it on Sarna where references to RoboTech are said in a derogatory way. Not that into video gaming but yes I have heard of it and yes, I guess Battletech is more than just a tabletop game but that is how I still see it even if it's not.

It's nothing that I would call 'flaming' if that is what you are thinking, just small shots of derision against Robotech in ways that come off more like jealousy to me.

Yes because I’ve never seen a RoboTech fan take any shots against Battletech to the best of my notice. I have seen shots taken by Battletech fans directed at Robo Tech.

I'd agree. Up until this post, I cannot recall seeing any Robotech fans make disparaging remarks about BattleTech fans, though I have seen it the other way around (though, again, extremely rarely and not indicative of the BattleTech base as a whole, by any means). I attribute the (very) few instances witnessed to be representative of sample sizes of each fanbase, which are weighted heavily in favor of BattleTech.

Based on a more recent snipe I saw, I would have to modify my above statement that it's not as much RoboTech that I have seen the shots taken against, but against Harmony Gold.
