Based on a more recent snipe I saw, I would have to modify my above statement that it's not as much RoboTech that I have seen the shots taken against, but against Harmony Gold.
Yes because I’ve never seen a RoboTech fan take any shots against Battletech to the best of my notice. I have seen shots taken by Battletech fans directed at Robo Tech.
I would not say it's a persistent thing, but I do see shots continually taken, yes on Social Media by individuals, but also I think I've seen it on Sarna where references to RoboTech are said in a derogatory way. Not that into video gaming but yes I have heard of it and yes, I guess Battletech is more than just a tabletop game but that is how I still see it even if it's not.
It's nothing that I would call 'flaming' if that is what you are thinking, just small shots of derision against Robotech in ways that come off more like jealousy to me.
Not on fandom. Mostly on social media. And not all the time but I consistently see shots taken against robo tech by battletech fans.
Hmmm interesting. I mean I have heard about the friction over some licensing images between HG and FASA and can see why the BT fans would bear sone ill will over it. But I keep seeing shots taken against Robotech from the BT community. It’s nothing serious or vindictive but they keep getting made.
I personally have not been into either for years now. Robotech with its clear success in Japan and the anime I think has a huge leg up over Battletech, which has always been a niche tabletop game. Still, there seems to be a lot of anti-robotech views expressed by the Battletech community over Robotech.
Is there some reason why that I am not seeing?
