January: The United Earth Government is ratified into power.
Roy Fokker returned to Pop Hunter's Flying Circus, as promised, having resigned his commission in the military. However, he soon leaves again after being offered a position on Macross Island as a test pilot. His brother, Rick Hunter, is heartbroken. Roy leaves behind his Mockingbird fan jet to Rick as a gift. Rick Hunter wins the Amateur Flying Competition for the fifth year in a row. (Macross Saga: "Boobytrap")
Mars Base Sara to test reflex weaponry. The base is discovered by Commander Krohn aboard an advance Zentraedi vessel. The base and Krohn's ship are subsequently destroyed, as is the Oberth. (Mars Base One (comic)

Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles was to be released, but was pushed back to limited releases in August of 2006. The first trailer was shown at Anime Expo.
Robotech: The Protoculture Collection complete series box set is released by ADV Films.
1 March - Barry Stigler passed away.

The following events are now removed from continuity:

February, Edwards crashed over the sea, after stating that he was being followed by three missiles. He was taken to an undersea submarine, The Lemuria, that contained a terrorist group that had captured the Veritech prototype. The terrorist group had payed him to ship a Veritech to them. He planned to double cross them. Roy Fokker was sent out to find him. Edwards shot Roy down, Roy was offered the chance to join as well, and Edwards told Roy that he was pretending to work with them, while actually trying to plan an escape route. Edwards escaped because during a flight to the SDF-1 where he was to help the terrorists, he stated codes that informed the base that he had been captured. They shot down the two planes next to him. Roy escaped on a stolen plane meanwhile. (Robotech: Return To Macross)
