The Azstraph was an interstellar ship used by the Tirolian Republic by Zor Derelda to search for new worlds and resources to aid their society. Unlike Space Fold ships, it took long periods of time to travel such distances and the crew would go into a forme of suspended animation for the journey. After going to several planets and finding nothing, Zor came upon Optera and discovered the Invid and their Flower of Life. After a Psychic encounter with the Regess, he returned to Tirol with samples from his voyage, only to find the Republic had become the Tirolian Empire under the reign of Nimuul.
