Blago was a Cadet at the Robotech Academy in the years between the Global War and the First Robotech War. During 1 class, Lt Fokker came to give a talk and Blago was not familiar with him. When Smith went to look at the model of the VF-1 Valkyrie, Blago corrected him on how it had Particle Beams to take out other missiles, while Smith said Missiles were for other Missiles, While Jones sided with Blago.(Robotech: Academy Blues: Academy Blues)
Later, Jones, Blago and Smith talked about getting placements and Vanessa's brother Rob Leeds. Jones joked Lisa's Father would keep her from failing or be sent to Alaska, before laughing with the trio, much to Lisa's displeasure(Robotech: Academy Blues: Tests).
