The VR-17 Crusader Cyclone was a heavily-armed Cyclone used during the Pioneer Expedition and assigned to commando units. It was nicknamed the "Giant Killer." Compared to the rest of the VR-010 series, it had more armor, better sensors, and three times the firepower.

The Crusader Cyclone is based off concept art for Genesis Climber MOSPEADA. Fans turned the same art into the YVR-055 Devastator Cyclone, although the art was re-used and turned into this unit.
