DC comics was the first as well as the current company to produce under the Robotech copyright title. The company first printed the Robotech Defenders in 1984, and after an agreement with Harmony Gold USA, they sold the comic rights and the name. The company regained the license in the 2000s, when they started producing new strips under the WildStorm branch, then futher issues under the Dynamite section.
