Dimitry was an Robotech Expeditionary Force SFA-5 Conbat pilot in Yellow Squadron and the wingman of Lance Belmont.
History[]
Dimitry fought in the First Earth Reclamation Force. Along with Lancer, they descended into Earth's atmosphere, drawing the Invid pursuers, and was shot down, crashing on the ground. He quickly dismounted from his fighter, and tried to take his Cyclone and go to assist Lancer when found himself surrounded by Invid troopers and Human collaborators, being captured. (Robotech: Invasion Part One)
One year later, Belmont found their cruiser crashed on the top of a Invid Hive. After joining an assault by resistance forces, all were annihilated except for Lancer and Olivia Stahl, the officer of both. Lancer followed her into the Hive and found him; he had been experimented upon by the occupiers, and was unconscious inside a tube. A fight between Lancer and Olivia ensued, and Belmont was forced to kill her, as she had become a Invid puppet. During the fight, she shot Dimitry's tube. After Lancer finished her, Dimitry awakened and was in terrible shape, with his body covered in scars, lacking an eye and with part of his brain exposed, but was himself. He explained to Belmont than the Invid had been studying humans and combining meat and technology, attempting to control them. Lancer attempted to take off the Garfish class cruiser, but it wasn't able to take off.
Death[]
Dmitry elected to die after what happened to him, and stayed behind to detonate the engines of the ship, destroying the Invid Hive. His sacrifice allowed Lancer to escape alive. (Robotech: Invasion Part 5)
Appearances[]
Behind the Scenes[]
In the film Robotech: Love Live Alive, Dimitry has a small vocal cameo during the flashback scene to when Lancer crash-landed on the Earth, where he is voiced by Steve Kramer. This makes him the first character to be introduced in a comic and then be used in an animation project since T. R. Edwards.
