The RL-8 Rocket Launcher was a weapon system developed by the Robotech Expeditionary Force and was seen during the Third Robotech War.
The powerful, low-velocity rockets launched by the RL-8 dealt major damage to anything they hit, including the user, so use of this weapon at close range was not advised. A typical magazine size contained six rockets though the rifle had a low rate of fire and an equally slow reload time.
