Grorie was a GMP Academy in the years before the Third Robotech War and a town in the years after.
On 11 November 2046, Aftermath Year 11, the Megaroad Convoy by Scott Bernard arrived 3 hours late. It was Megaroad Mission Day 121 and it arrived in Grorie, a community 121 KM west of Belmont and former site of the Global Military Police Academy. The Megaroad Convoy came to repair the water systems but 3 hours East got an urgent radio message from General Whatley to rescue people trapped in Rugger Territory and was caught in a firefight. Whatley yelled at Scott for letting Red Saydros take Four Eyes but Scott pointed out they were rescuing people and the Thuggers went straight for Four Eyes and took him while shooting 7 of his men. Dr. Hoy saved them but wanted to know why Whatley sent him in and didn't warn them of the enemy, only to be told to meet in his office in 1 hour. Nova Satori was recognized as Lana Isavia by Jean Macoute. Whatley told Scott that Saydros was a powerful Thugger and warlord and now got Four Eyes so the power balance was altered. Whatley wanted Scott to rescue Four Eyes and he wouldn't be a hostage if Bernard had done his job. Nova stood up for Whatley who said he was her former commanding officer at the academy and could vouch for her, also if word got out that Megaroad let a hostage get captured and failed a mission, the other towns wouldn't be so accepting of it. Scott consented to the mission and Rook gave a death gaze at Nova. Nova chatted with Jean about how he'd fit in at Belmont and how she'd always be welcome at the Academy as well as her working with Bernard in Megaroad as the world was poor and weak from the wars and ripe for the picking. 2 female bodybuilders Laura and Sandra worked for Nova and talked about if she liked Jean or was leaning him on. Jean wondered if Scott was right about rebuilding the damaged world from the scraps of the past. Scott had a drink with Dr. Hoy and talked of how he was the only Zentraedi who enjoyed the hard stuff, which Hoy replied that Hohsq noticed that as well and called it Maikuron Poison. Scott told Hoy of the mission which Hoy called ill advised but Scott replied it would only be him, Nova and her 2 minions without other Megaroad personnel. Later, the Nth Degree Power Cells were charged and Scott told Rook that if he wasn't back in 24 hours to put Bryce in charge. Rook felt the plan was not a good idea but Scott went on and after several hours, they buried the vehicle in the snow and went on foot. They burst in the base guns drawn only to find Four eyes was treating Saydros's Daughter Carmel Saydros. Four eyes revealed his real name was Spencer and Four Eyes was a slave Name that Whatley gave his men. Saydros had them as slaves in his 1st town but Whatley tried to take them and sent in Scott to aid his plans. Spencer didn't want to leave as in the wastelands, might made right and he could choose to be Whatley's slave or Saydros Slave and chose Saydros. Whatley knew he could get a lot of money for an eye doctor like him and desired him for that and knowing Scott wouldn't aid him willingly, lied to him. Also Whatley was no different than Saydros and only wanted more slaves and power. Spencer left the Southlands to come to the northlands and survived Leonard and Hagana and was sick of it but Whatley caught him at gunpoint and kept him from going around treating kids eyes. Spencer heard of what Scott did in Belmont and didn't think he was better than the rest of them and as Scott attempted to explain, Nova aimed her gun at him and was going to take Four Eyes herself. Four Eyes had enough and told her to shoot him and Rook came in and fired a warning shot at the wall as per Scotts plan. Scott took Nova's gun and Rook was ready to go with Spencer but he wanted to stay with the patient. Saydros told Spencer to take her with him and even if he never saw her again, he'd be glad she was safe and he promised her mother before she died to keep her well. In the log, Scott said how Rook followed them and posed as a drunk to get close and how Dr. Hoy mentioned how a man who could make glasses could be a great boon to anyone in the wastelands. Whatley insisting on sending Nova lead Scott to believe she would betray him and Scott was surprised Nova was loyal to him instead of only herself. After leaving and getting Carmel treatment, Scott and Rook with a few soldiers went to see Whatley only to find Macoute had taken over. Scott had a drink with Dr. Hoy and talked of how even if they had gotten back Spencer, Whatley would have badmouthed the Megaroad and Spencer came in wanting to join Megaroad. Scott accepted him as he showed courage looking down the barrel of Nova's gun and they had a drink as Four eyes said to call him Spex. After fixing the water system in Grorie, they went onward a West journey and Nova was confined to Quarters for a week but seemed loyal despite her acts. Nova told Scott that Jean had gunned down Whatley in a Coup D'état he'd been planning for years and saw his chance in the confusion.
