The MiM-31 Karyovin was a Russian-built attack fighter in use since at least the Global War in 1999. Along its center of gravity was its 30mm gatling cannon. Although often used by the Anti-Unification League prior to the First Robotech War, it was also adopted by the Robotech Defense Force.
The mid-series refits took advantage of the Robotechnology from the SDF-1 and many squadrons were adopted by the RDF for close air support.
