Murphy finds a hatch. (Robotech: The Graphic Novel)
According to one source, Murphy was one of the people who was chosen to investigate the SDF-1 when it crash-landed on Earth. He found a hatch on the side of it, but was grabbed by a tentacle and dragged inside the ship, where he was cut up and put in some sort of a nutrient bath. (Robotech: The Graphic Novel)
