Commander Nazdak was an Invid who worked for the Regent and was in command of his occupation of Spheris. When the Sentinels arrived, Tesla used his powers gained by consuming the forbidden Fruits of The Flower of Life to attempt to control the Invid on the planet. Nazdak was alerted to this and used the Invid Brain to order the Invid to attack Tesla, only for Tesla to order the Invid to protect him, which resulted in the Invid attacking each other (Robotech II: Requiem for Justice).
