Obsim was a male Invid who worked as chief scientist within the armies of the Regent.
Biography[]
He was stationed in a laboratory on his masters starship and greeted the Regent following his return from the surface of Tirol. Obsim reported that there were no traces of the Flower of Life on the Robotech Masters homeworld and that the native Tirolian population were ill fit to serve as slaves. With the failure in his mission, the Regent tasked Obsim to serve as his lieutenant whilst his master returned to Optera in order to save face from the Regess.
Obsim claimed he was honored and that he would sift through Tirol for signs of the Protoculture Matrix. In response, the Regent said success would bring about a reward and failure would mean Obsim relegated to remain on Tirol for eternity.
However, Obsim hadn't time to do nothing: as soon as the Regent's forces departed, the Robotech Expeditionary Force SDF-3 arrived at system, and the REF forces proved too much for the limitedInvid forces to hold on. Obsim barely managed to send a distress call to the Regent, protecting at all costs his portion of the Invid Brain. But when a REF team of Ghost Squadron, led by General Thomas Riley Edwards, infiltrated into his command post, it all ended.
Obsim attempted to protect the Brain at all costs, even showing Edwards how to activate and deactivate it, shuting off all what remained of his forces. He didn't live enough to regret his mistake: now, Edwards didn't need him. The xenophobic general, probably as much for hate as to make sure Obsim didn't share his knowledge of the Brain with the rest of the REF, executed him at cold blood.(The Devils Hand (novel))
