Robotech: Clone 4: The Dialect of Duality Part 5 is an Academy Comics issue, the fifth part of the Clone storyline featuring Dr. Gilles Vaudell and the SDF-Mordecai in the Andromeda Galaxy.
On the SDF-Mordecai Rueis took a fighter and launched. Bibi reported to Captain Faulkner that the aliens have not responded to broadcasts in English or Zentraedi. Faulkner revealed his orders were to wipe them out with the Main Gun after Gilles lead them around with Shock Divers and Capitol Mecha. In Space, 800 Type IJ Iconoclasts, 200 Type T Iconoclasts and 200 Type R Iconoclasts are launched as Gilles considered past alien encounters such as the Zentraedi, the Invid and Robotech Masters as well as if they had a connection to these. Gilles ponders on Virtue being hard for Humans and deception being the reason they survived so long, but the Xalon Process being the ultimate of evolution as it removed mortality from Mankind besides a violent death. Arey from Squad 550 detected a distortion from the dark side of the planet and it was the same one received trying to track the Mecha that hit the SDF. 32 000 enemy Mecha had been launched and the Type IR Ionoclasts converted to Meson Accelerator Platform Mode and fired their Meson Accelerators to destroy the enemy. 10 000 still advanced and Captain Faulkner ordered the Reflex Shield dropped to fire the Main Gun, but were hit with a 200 Megaton Particle Beam that recharged and refired too fast to drop the shields to fire the Main Gun. In space Rueis goes to Ram his Iconoclast into the enemy ship and fold with it into a Black hole. Rueis told Gilles he wasn't useful anymore but Gilles refuted that and attempted to talk him out of it. Rueis told him he hadn't been useful since his wife Minki died and had been a stopped heart for years. After folding into the enemy ship and bringing it to the event horizon of a Black hole 2.3 Light Years away, The Mordecai Mind told Gilles she had a faint link with Rueis and patched his communication to Giles. Rueis said how the colors were strange and he was a painting hung on a wall watching himself in a mirror and how we see all things but not always what's best. His life was too 3 Dimensional and like a Statue of David but had no stones to sling so he could melt into a canvas and mix with the oils, to hang there until the museum crumbles. Gilles shed a tear as Rueis goes silent and said his goodbyes. Afterward Raux talked with The Mordecai Mind about how all 32 000 Glochis Roab sentient Fighters and all 8000 Monte Yarrow were dead, Baux was still on the SDF disguised as a memory of Demont's Mother and should have listened to her. The Mordecai Mind told Raxe that her influence didn't die with the old Mordecai Mind and the SDF would go on to breathe life into the Andromeda Galaxy in ways even Gilles couldn't imagine. Elsewhere on the ship, Baux wondered where Raxe went and if she changed forme and the Ship Crew erected a monument to Rueis but Baux faked being Rueis to Gilles and said she's only a memory.
