"Robotech: MechAngel 1: One on One" is the first issue of Robotech: MechAngel, released in 1996.
Plot summary[]
While in The Gauntlet, Lyss is fired on and when she chases down her attacker, is gassed. She recalls confronting Bomar Garux over his actions and executing him in 2019. When she wakes up she is taken to see Daugherty and offers to join him in his death matches that are sold on video on the black market. Lyss claims she can make more money in the arena than Salvaging and wants to prove even a micronized Zentraedi can win. She's given a chance to try out for the matches, but if she fails, then they end her as she knows too much. After a fight with Hela, Lyss wins but is displeased that her opponent could finish her, while Lyss was stopped from going too far. Angelo Dante comes in and is revealed to be a fighter under the name of Cougar, but thinks Lyss won't last long. Later while Angelo is working out, Lyss talks to him about how they are here for the same reason and should team up, but Angelo doesn't consent and walks out.
