Robotech 5 is the fifth issue of the 2017 Titan Comics Robotech comic series. It saw a print and digital release on 13 December, 2017. It follows the plot of Bye-Bye Mars, but makes significant changes.
Summary[]
Rick Hunter has joined the Veritech squadrons aboard the SDF-1. It was upon heavy attack on its journey back home to Earth as they mourn Captain Gloval.
Aboard the flagship, Breetai backs off the attack, and discusses the plan for Mars with Khyron. The SDF-1 crew decided to land at Mars Base, and Lisa Hayes reflects on her lover Karl Riber. In Macross City, Hunter and Lynn Minmei are spending time together, and she takes him to the doctor for his eyesight, who tells him his eyes are evolving.
As the SDF-1 lands, Roy Fokker and Claudia Grant investigate Gloval's death.
Commander Hayes decides to enter the base first, and discovers Riber's last mysterious journal entry. At the end, she sees an apparition of him.
At that moment, Khyron springs his attack.
