Robotech Aftermath 1: Belmont

Roobtech: Aftermath 1: Belmont is the first title in the alternate continuity Robotech: Aftermath line. It introduces the stories of Scott Bernard's friends after the Third Robotech War and centers on the peaceful location of Belmont.

Summary[]

Lancer wrote a letter to "Marlene" in his journal on how he was alone and after she left, he tried to help Sera for the 10 years after the Invid War, and how the journal is for her when she returns. Sera had become a singer who's voice helped people forget their problems, After the Invid left, they took the Protoculture and technology that used it no longer functioned. The RDF collapsed and a few Alpha Fighters that survived the war still worked but most broke down or left the planet over the years. Scott left the planet and some RDF members went rogue or died from Sky Fever as society fell to chaos. Lunk got a RDF squad to join the group and fixed their Jeep and Annie found a map to Belmont, which was a city built in the 90s as a casino and resort for the ultra rich but the Global War ended that. Lancer enjoyed the idea of the ultra rich falling as he saw them as kicking around the little guy and wanted to make a place no one was kicked around. Rand and Rook adopted Annie and over the years she grew up with the town. After 9 years it had 10 000 people and the Flower of Life and Protoculture was in a way living and had a connection to Sera and Marlene that gave Sera the power to bring Darrin Melaney back from the dead. Sera had become a village Wise Woman and grew closer to Lancer. Rook and Rand clashed often but still cared for each other until Scott returned. In Belmont a council came together that was a sort of democratic government that met in the central tower of the city., Everyone got an ID Card and a guaranteed job of what they wanted or if they had no specific calling, would be on the Belmont Corps of doing general maintenance to the city. After years of peace, Scott returned bitter and on a White horse with a woman and the only one who wasn't pleased to see him was Rand. The next day Scott had posters put up calling for a General Muster to the U N Spacey and many signed up as they wanted to see their Invid War hero. Scott said as the highest ranking RDF member he would be in charge until relieved by Admiral Hunter and he's reforming the RDF under the name The Army Of Belmont top restore the Earth. The old gang joined the new RDF while prior, Lunk and Annie were heads of the Resource and Rehab Committee that scavenged items but Lunks Loyal Retainers joined the force and became Scotts Quartermaster Corps. Rand got a commission in the Belmont Military Police Reserve to keep an eye on them and Lancer quickly removed his RDF Armband and quit as he saw Sera's look seeing him in it. Rook went off but returned as a professional killer with a scarred face in charge of a group called The Iron Butterflies and left Rand which devastated him. Sera sung to him which eased him and Lancer went out but found the council was assassinated by a bomb and the forces of Scott and Rook swooped in and took over and vowed to protect them from the attackers. In private, Scott told his female accomplice Nova Satori that he held up his end of the bargain and got her an army and city of hard workers and now wanted to know where Marlene was. When Nova informed him that she'd tell him after more of his services, he grabbed here but she told him she could have Rook shoot him but needed him to keep the people off her back and then she'd tell where his Invid Girlfriend was. The meeting was secretly being recorded by Lunk's Retainers and members of Scotts Invid War Allies and the tape was released. in a fortnight a group to overthrow the Belmont Military government was formed and followed Sera and grew from concerts with anti Belmont Military speeches to full on demonstrations after bringing in songs from Minmei. At 1 concert Rand warned Lancer that Nova's men would try something and when Lancer and Sera went up he gave a speech of how he fought the Invid for peace and the war ended but Scott won't accept it but they are tired of his oppression. Rook on her bike contacts Nova and as the show goes on with anti Belmont Military themes, Nova ordered it ended. Rook rides in with a gun and orders the event over and if not, she'd blow off Lancers head.
