Robotech Aftermath 5: Lancer is the fifth title in the alternate continuity Robotech: Aftermath line. It introduces the stories of Scott Bernard's friends after the Third Robotech War and centers on the peaceful location of Belmont.
Summary[]
In The Wilds, Nova Satori brings Rook the head of Atilla, the leader of The Red Snakes as he killed her parents, her sister and Romy. She had left her friends to return home but found her loved ones dead. In return, Rook joined Nova and scarred her face. In the present Chelly and Annie fixed up the damaged Veritech as they told Sera how she appeared to them in a dream and now they have Hohsq captured. In Belmont, Lunk went over plans to retake the city from Nova and how they'd not starve them out as they agreed that no one starves in Belmont when they made the charter. Lunk lamented how he was used to fighting aliens and now faced his fellow man. In the battle against Hohsq's men, Bella found Rook on the ground crying for her lost ones and called Fletcher to get the first aid kit. Fletcher treated Rook who was glad to see Bella was alive and Fletcher found Rook to be mostly mentally injured from combat shock. Bella and Fletcher had Rook deemed incapacitated and Bella ordered LT Magsaysay to report to her as they evacuated Rook. Annie told Sera and her allies how Belmont was in a civil war and Nova had troops open fire on protesters which slew 30 youths. The protesters wanted Scott to deal with Hohsq to regain Sera and Sera revealed to her crew that Hohsq didn't want the North Fields. Councilwoman Kim promised Hohsq entry to Belmont but after Scott's men had them turned away, they went top Castle Fate and found a Nuclear Reactor and Mecha made to run on it to fight the Masters but never used. When supplies ran low, Hohsq was going to use the Mecha to enter. But the Belmont Army, the Iron Butterflies and Sera's Teth powers were preventing him from achieving this. He used his Teth Powers to lure Sera out with the image of Corg and lured out the Iron Butterflies and Scott's Regulars to the North Fields. Hohsq reveals he had a final card to play, a red Veritech heading for Belmont piloted by his son Chaver. Lancer wanted to save Belmont but Sera revealed that her dream had a vision of him dying and felt if he went, he'd wind up dead. In Belmont, Scott drank his sorrows and heard Marlene but it was Lunk on a megaphone calling for him to surrender as the resistance had taken over Belmont. Then Chaver arrived in his Veritech and opened fire on the people. Scott had enough and went to kill Nova and revealed he knew her real name was Lana Isavia. Nova called his bluff and said he was a weak tool to use like Leonard. Also she never had Marlene and only got her jacket from a man who claimed it was hers. Scott shot her in the eye and went out to face Chaver in his Veritech with only a handgun.
