Rook Bartley was a hard-edged biker on Earth during the Invid Invasion of Earth and member of The Blue Angels, although she had a falling out and later struck out on her own with a Cyclone. She later met Scott Bernard and Rand of the REF and became involved in the anti-Invid struggle. They then met Lunk, Annie LaBelle, and Lance Belmont, forming the core of the Robotech Rebels. During the next year, they traveled to Reflex Point and fought the Invid along the way. They also found Ariel.
During the third Earth Reclamation mission, the rebels were instrumental in convincing the Regess to depart.
Rand and Bartley held feelings for each other, and later had a daughter, Maria Bartley-Rand.
