Sarna is a female Haydonite who was the daughter of Prime Administrator Vowad of Haydon IV. Unlike the majority of Haydonites, she did not believe in her people's neutrality stance during the Invid domination of the Local Group. As such, she came across a like minded being in Veidt and became his mate.
At some point, the pair were captured by the Invid scientist Tesla who had placed them on the Farrago as test subjects to study for the Regess. They later freed themselves and the slave crew formed a band of resistance fighters known as the Sentinels. Sarna would work with the group alongside the Robotech Expeditionary Force against the Regent as they worked to free the worlds from the Invid oppression.
Eventually, the Sentinels arrived at Haydon I, and Sarna attempted to convince her father to stop aiding the Invid. Ultimately, it cost Sarna her life and in a rage Vowad turned the defense system against the Regent's forces.
Both Veidt and Vowad would move Sarna's dead body into the embrace of a monument of Haydon where they asked their creator to look after her departed spirit.
