The Starchildren were a quasi religious movement, often labeled a cult, that organizes privately funded space colonization. It was lean by Dr. Kaaren Napperson who was a system analyst on the Vision Restoration Project and worked on building the SDF-2 and SDF-3. It was based in Ciudad Lanzar (Launch City) in central Argentine Quadrant and was focused on pacifism but resorted to organize militia for self defense. They felt the Earth would be ruined by war and tragedy in the near future and wanted to make colony ships to escape, with a lottery system to decide who went. The group saw higher numbers growth during and after the Second Robotech War but the amount of Robotechnology and Protoculture in Launch City drew the Invid to them which lead to a slaughter.
According to one source Terry Weston was hired by the Starchildren as they built their own starship. Unfortunately, they were raided by the Invid, leaving him the only survivor. (Robotech: Invid War: Inferno Brigade)
