"The First Person" is the first comic story printed in the 1998 Robotech: Annual, a collection of three stories. Set during the First Robotech War, the story follows an agent attempting to find a Zentraedi spy on the SDF-1: the title being a reference to the final line of the comic as well as a play on the first-person perspective of the strip.

Continuity[]
- The comic Robotech: Vermilion also illustrates humans working for Zentraedi. In this story it does not come as a surprise that humans are aiding the enemy, so a placement after that story, and thus, after "Paradise Lost," is most logical.
