Captain Vince Grant was an REF officer and the husband of Jean Grant, and acted as an aide to Admiral Rick Hunter and commander of the GMU. When they SDF-3 departed on their mission, the Grants left their son Bowie with Rolf Emerson.
Upon their arrival at Tirol, the REF became involved in the conflict with the Invid, and the Hunters and Grants joined the Sentinels.
